3x3 FACES PUSHKINSKY CINEMA
X+ Luís de Sousa
Location Moscow, Russia
As stated countless times before, cinema is all about action, life and architecture in a motion picture.
The cinematic essence of the architectural experience in the Pushkinsky Cinema Theatre is brought by the combination of the past, the future and the dynamics in between, represented trough an innovative and interactive facade design.
This proposal evokes the imaginary in an ever transforming structure that establishes communication with the city and the people. The condition of metamorphosis guides the action into multiple possibilities of visualisation and uses. Besides the advertising capacity, the new facade is self-sustainable and eco-friendly.
The cubic structure is even supported by a system, which rises and descends at the entrance points. The main entrance is the unique access to the Cinema on the Premiere evenings and special occasions, while the side entrances work on a regular daily basis.
The three cubic faces compose a non-static facade, ever in motion, ever diverse. Experiencing life projected in architecture.
